In this busy fast paced world, sometimes the last thing around seems to be any sort of peace. Try this very short exercise taken from: Love Yourself Being You: A Way to Live Your Best Life to get yourself grounded, calm, and to find inner peace:
“Using your five senses, observe something in nature:
- touch – feel your bare feet on the ground, feel a breeze caressing you
- see – the birds soaring in the sky, the deep rich colours of the trees and the flowers
- taste – sweet juicy pineapple, fresh strawberries
- smell – the fresh air, the flowers
- hear – the birds singing; the sound of the ocean, a waterfall, or a stream; the booming thunder
Why this works?
In order to do this exercise, you must stop in order to observe; you must stop and be present in the here and now. This is where peace is, in the beauty of the present moment, the only moment in which we truly exist.”
