The Nature Connection—Get Calm & Relaxed Observing Nature

Observing nature is a wonderful way to quiet your mind, calm anxieties, and feel peaceful.

As you go through your day, notice nature. Listen to the sound of birds chirping. Smell the flowers. Touch a soft rose petal. Enjoy the blue sky, colourful sunset, or take a deep breath of fresh air as you watch the sunrise. Pay attention to your surroundings and observe the details.

As you watch these videos, take a few deep breaths and relax. Allow yourself to let go of any tension you’re feeling and simply be in the moment.

The Nature Connection—Get Calm & Relaxed Observing Nature: Downy Woodpecker Building a Nest

As you watch this video of a Downy Woodpecker building a nest, take a deep breath in, relax your shoulders; release any tension as you breathe out slowly. Continue to take deep soothing breaths to get calm and relaxed as you observe the woodpecker.

Notice how focused the woodpecker is, completely ignoring the noise of nearby traffic. Allow yourself to focus on your breathing now and be completely calm and relaxed.

If you would like to see a picture of the finished nest, you can see it here: Downy Woodpecker Nest Pictures
